Nearly two third of all floorball players hold their stick on the left side and are therefore referred to as left-handed players. One third are thus right-handed shooters. Decisive here for is not if you are left or right handed, but how you hold your stick.

Left-handed players
If you shoot left-handed, you hold the stick with both hands to the left side of your body. The left hand grabs the stick at the bottom, the right hand is on top. The blade is right-curved. Your forehand side is left, your backhand side right.

Right-handed players
If you shoot right-handed, you hold the stick with both hands to the right side of the body. The right hand grabs the stick at the bottom, the left hand is on top. The blade is left-curved. Your fore hand is right, your back hand left.

I am a right-handed person, do I need to hold my stick right?
No! Decisive is your stick handling. With floorball, it is similar with other disciplines, e.g. snowboarders have a preference for one or the other body side. When unsure, if you should hold the stick to the left or body right side, try to hold the stick of a team mate to both sides. Very soon you will realize on which side your feeling for the stick is best.

I don't know, if my child is a left- or right-handed player?
Perhaps, your kid had the chance to try a stick without pre-bending at school or at the club. Quickly you will find out what the preferred side is. Coaches are also able to assess and sure are willing to help by determining the right side.

My child is playing the other side after all, can I replace the stick?
Exchange of goods in the original condition and packaging is possible within 7 days of receipt. Are you or your child unsure about the right side do not immediately remove the protective cover from the stick.
